The Red, White, and Blue Fun Tournament at Canongate on July 2 will begin at 9 a.m.  Please consider joining in on the fun if your Sunday plans this week already include golf. Shane is trying to plan fun events for the members and is having a hard time getting participation. Cost is $20 plus your normal cart fees.

2023 Handicap Tournament

The weather cooperated and we were able to complete our 2023 Handicap Tournament.  We missed all of those that were not able to play this year. Congratulations to our 2023 Champion, Bunny Guy!!! Here is the complete list of winners and their two-day net total:

You might not be thinking this far in advance yet, but our first July play day is July 4th.  I'd like to start getting an idea of who thinks they will be around to play that day, and if there will even be enough to have a play day.  I know as of now, I plan to be in town and will want to play that day.

Since our Handicap Tournament is next week, there will not be a golf genius invite going out tomorrow.  I will take care of getting everybody in.  Please let me know by Friday if you plan to play.  I will send another email with the list of names of those that have already signed up. Handicaps as of Sunday, June 18 will be used.  

 A message from Cricket….

Good morning. Sign-up for this Tuesday closes tomorrow evening at 8.  I am going to start closing sign-ups on Sunday evenings so that I can work on getting the tee sheets and everything else ready on Monday mornings.  If anyone's plans change after the tee sheets go out on Monday it usually is not a problem to add/remove anyone.

Our handicap tournament is getting close.  Please let me know by Friday, June 16, if you plan to play.  We currently have 21 signed up.  We will have a shotgun start both days starting at 9:30. 

There is another Par 3 Challenge at Canongate this Wednesday, June 14, at 4:00.  If you are interested in playing, call the clubhouse and sign up. The cost is $10 cash.Handicaps are factored in. I won't be able to play this time, but a few others have expressed interest in being there.  Shane is trying to do this Par 3 Challenge once a month and maybe expand it if the interest is there.

Another opportunity coming up is the Red, White, and Blue tournament scheduled for July 2.  I do not know the cost or time yet, but it sounds like a fun format.  Men will play six tee shots each from the blue, gold, and white tees.  Women will play six tee shots each from the forward, red, and green tees.  You choose when you tee off from each tee box, as long as you get six from each. I'm looking forward to playing this format that I have not played before.

A Message from Cricket....

Good morning. Next Tuesday is Women's Golf Day. For those playing at Canongate, I believe Shane is planning to go out and play a few holes with each group and have a little fun. If you haven't signed up yet for Tuesday, let me know you plan to play or sign up through Golf Genius.

On Wednesday, June 7,  Angela and Todd have two clinics planned. Angela is having a putting clinic at White Oak at 1:00, and Todd is having a Wine and Wedges clinic at Canongate at 6:00. Each clinic cost $15 and includes a glass of wine!  I hope to see many of you out there.  I don't think I can make the afternoon clinic but do plan on being at the evening one.

Please let me know if I have left you off the list. I may have lost track of the emails that came back to me saying you were playing! Also let me know if you will be playing the purple or orange tees. Some of you have recently gone back to playing the purple tees and I want to make sure that you intend to continue doing so. You will play from the same tees for both courses.

Don't forget that if you are golfing on days other than our play days that you should be posting your scores. Posting scores is the only way to keep our handicap valid and fair to everyone.
